Home: Welcome

The students in Studies in Rhetorical Genres worked together to create a semester-long, multimedia project looking at the integration between self, space, and story. This integration involved research regarding the enneagram personality test. This project came to fruition through the creation of a podcast, a children’s book, and a website/blog.

The Topos Podcast is composed of a team of 4 people who enter the threshold of a person's sacred space, with permission and deep gratitude. There, the team engages in thoughtful conversation with the person about how they cater their space, what items are important to them, and who they are on the enneagram spectrum. Through this, the mission to understand the  individual’s self, their space, and where their story lay somewhere in between the two is made manifest.

The Topos children’s book is composed of a writing team and design team, both creating elements and symbols to exhibit each enneagram type. This book introduces animal characters that represent each number on the enneagram. Each number was given a color, animal, and accessories that were thoughtfully brought together in order to show each types characteristics.

The topos blog consists of nine posts, each based on an interview with people of different enneagram types, in which they discuss how their personalities affect how they interact with spaces. The blog will be informal and feature pictures of the person’s space. The format will be loose, meaning that posts can be written in first or third person and can range from 150-750 words. We will engage our readers with a casual and lively writing style while providing an informed articles on the enneagram.
